M.A. Special Education / Learning Disabilities
A proud Chicagoan, I grew up in Uptown - walking to Foster Beach for elotes in the summer, and braving the winter walks (every Sunday) to get Phở with my family. A proud product of Chicago Public Schools (PreK - 12) , I was encouraged by my teachers at Lane Tech College Prep (Go, Lane, Go!) to “explore and make a difference.” I took this mantra and made it my own! I decided to move to New York, where I double majored in Secondary Education and History; I also completed my Masters in Special Education/ Learning Disabilities. During that time, I taught both General (8 - 12th; U.S. and World History) and Special Education students (Severe and Profound Disabilities; ages 12 - 21). Although I miss the bright lights of New York City, I am ecstatic to be a part of the Jahn Middle School team, where I hope to encourage and develop the desire for learning and self-advocacy in all my students. This year, I will be co-teaching (English Language Arts) and sharing the 7th grade homeroom with Mrs. Rodkey! Feel free to stop by to chat or to listen to some 90s/00s R&B (my fave)!
