Janet Walsh

Let me take a minute to introduce myself to you.  It is very important to me to get to know each student’s strengths and needs. My classroom becomes a community that makes children feel safe to ask questions and try new ways of learning.  I work with children to get them to grade level or above, and I actively communicate with parents about student growth and needs.  I have high expectations of myself, my students, and my learning community.

I have a BA in Elementary Education  at Northeastern Illinois, along with middle school endorsements in math, science, social science and language arts. I also have a Masters Degree in Reading from Concordia University.

I  began teaching Kindergarten in a private school over 26 years ago.  During this time, I also taught 1st and 2nd grade. I spent several years teaching Kindergarten at Alexander Graham Bell and taught 1st grade at Prescott Elementary.  Finally, I  made a home at Jahn in 2013.
