Teaching History

This is my 18th year teaching in Chicago Public Schools, and 15th year in preschool.  I have been team teaching preschool at Jahn with Ms. Emily since 2018.  I strive to provide differentiated instruction for our school’s youngest learners, strong social-emotional support, motivation for learning, and development of a strong academic foundation for their future learning.  I believe in developing strong teacher-parent and school-parent partnerships through providing ongoing opportunities for family communication and involvement.  Creating these strong relationships helps demonstrate the value of education to students and the recognition that parents really are their children’s first teachers.

Personal

I was born and raised in Chicago and Lincolnwood.  My passion for teaching began in high school from teaching sailing in the summers and throughout college.  My husband and I moved to Roscoe Village in 2017.  We have three sons.  Being a mom helps me further appreciate caring, dedicated teachers and the value of a true partnership between parents and teachers.  I believe in striving for a balanced healthy lifestyle for myself and for my family, through the sport of triathlon.  Other hobbies include traveling, cooking, photography, and lots of outdoor play with our boys!
