Mariella Arroyo

My name is Mariella Arroyo. I am a special education teacher at Jahn Elementary. I was born and raised in Chicago. I left Chicago after high school, and served in the Navy for 6 years. After my service, I came back to Chicago and received my undergraduate degree from Loyola University and my masters in special education from University of Illinois at Chicago. I became a teacher in 2018, and have experience working with both middle school and primary grades.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, many forms of exercise and being an advocate for animals. I usually read between 25-30 books a year, it is one of my favorite things to do. I also have been a volunteer at animal control and various rescues in the city of Chicago. I am very excited to be a part of the Jahn family, and looking forward to supporting students and family in this community.
