Hi! My name is Erin Nardone (formally Grimes, you may hear your kiddo calling me that). This is my third year as a Learning Specialist at Jahn.  I love teaching and bringing the joy of learning to my students. I feel passionate about building strong relationships with my students, their families, and my colleagues.  If we haven’t met yet, please introduce yourself! I look forward to meeting and learning more about you!

I grew up an hour south of the city in Bourbonnais, IL, and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for undergrad (go Flames!). After college, I joined Teach for America, which brought me to Memphis, TN where I taught K-2 Special Education. While in Memphis, I earned a Masters of Education at the University of Christian Brothers.

My next opportunity brought me to Austin, TX where I taught K-4 Special Education.  After one-year in a KIPP community school, I knew I wanted to come home to Chicago to teach in my favorite city! I took a 1st-grade teaching position on the Westside where I taught for two years before finding my forever home at Jahn! I’m currently working to become Board Certified and am involved in a handful of committees throughout the Janh network.

When I’m not teaching or helping with extracurriculars at Jahn you can find me riding my bike, exploring the city with my husband, enjoying an activity on or near the water, relaxing with family and friends, or checking out new restaurants in our neighborhood. I’m always looking for fun Chicago suggestions!

My door is always open! Please come to me with any questions, joys, concerns, suggestions, or just to talk!
