M.A. Reading, Concordia University
Let me take a minute to introduce myself to you. It is very important to me to get to know each student’s strengths and needs. My classroom becomes a community that makes children feel safe to ask questions and try new ways of learning. I work with children to get them to grade level or above, and I actively communicate with parents about student growth and needs. I have high expectations of myself, my students, and my learning community.
I have a BA in Elementary Education at Northeastern Illinois, along with middle school endorsements in math, science, social science and language arts, as well as my Masters Degree in Reading at Concordia University. I began teaching Kindergarten in a private school over 25 years ago. During this time, I also taught 1st and 2nd grade. I spent several years teaching Kindergarten at Alexander Graham Bell and 1st grade at Prescott. I then made a home at Jahn. When I arrived at Jahn in 2013, I taught middle school math and science, the following year I taught 4th grade, last year I was the middle school science teacher and this school year, I will be in 3rd grade.
