Dear Jahn Families,

The Book Fair is December 5th – 12th.  This is a great opportunity for students to purchase books and develop a love for reading.  We need volunteers for set up, break down, and be the cashier during the week.  If interested in helping out, please email Lori Benson at lorilehmanbenson@gmail.com

The annual North Pole is right around the corner!  Please join us at Jahn on Saturday, December 10th for a fun-filled day packed with activities.  This year we will have an Artisan Market as part of the event.  We are looking for vendors to sell art!  The application is on the website. For more information on how to apply, contact Kelly Vincent at kellyhvincent@me.com.

The winter assembly is scheduled for December 15th at 6:00pm in the auditorium.  Students in K-4 will perform songs for the school community.  All families are welcome to join us.  The assembly will last about an hour.  It will be a fun night and I hope everyone is able to join us!

Be our guest at the 1st annual Jahn Preschool Art Show.  Please come view the beautiful artwork of the preschool students of room 001 and room 101, both AM and PM classes will be involved.  The show is on Thursday, December 22nd at 8:45am in the auditorium.  A small reception will follow the art show.

We partnered with Emerald City this fall for musical theatre instruction.  Students in grades K-5 will showcase a culminating performance on Thursday, December 15th in the auditorium.  Students in grades 1st, 2nd and 4th will perform at 10am.  Students in grades K, 3rd, and 5th grade will perform at 2pm.  All families are welcome to watch!

Parent tours will be each Wednesday at 8:30am.  If you know families who are interested in Jahn, encourage them to take a tour!  Families who live outside the attendance boundary must apply through options and the deadline is December 9th.  For questions about applying to Jahn, contact Margo in the main office at 773-534-5500.

Continue to visit our new website www.jahnschool.com for the updates and digital backpack.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

 Sincerely,

Michael Herring
