Dear Jahn Community,
I hope this message finds you well. CPS announced earlier this week that school will start with full remote instruction for the first quarter. We want to improve our remote instruction and need your input. Please help us by completing this parent survey in English and Spanish.
Please come to the school to pick up the pre-school registration packet. Once we receive authorization to enroll students who have been accepted a seat via the Chicago Early Learning, you will receive an invitation for in-person registration around the week of August 24, 2020. The registration packets are in a grey box in front of the main entrance for no contact pick up.
New Student Registration (K-8):
Please feel free to complete the registration form on-line. Once we receive your information, we will reach back out to you to confirm your registration.
In addition, we are holding a registration event for K-8 families on August 14th from 3-6 at the Lathrop Boys and Girls Club (2915 N. Leavitt St.) All families are welcome to attend if you would like in-person support with registration. Masks required to enter the building.
Due to school starting full remote for Q1, we are not sharing our traditional school supply lists at this time. Individual teachers will inform families of any necessary supplies once school starts. However, if you are in need of a Chromebook, please reach out to Mrs. Moon-Sarudi at [email protected]
After School Care:
We understand that many families are seeking after school care for the upcoming school year, if CPS goes with the hybrid model after quarter 1. At this time, we are waiting for further guidance on if YMCA will provide after school care at Jahn like in years past. If you are interested in receiving updates from the YMCA, please complete this form.
We have confirmed with our local Boys and Girls Club that they will provide after school care to our students in the upcoming school year. This service is very inexpensive, at $25 per year. If you are interested in registering for after school care with Boys and Girls Club, please contact Marco DeLaRosa at [email protected]. Mrs. Moon-Sarudi and I recently took a tour of the newly renovated Boys and Girls Club, and are very impressed with the cleanliness and safety protocols they have in place.
School Summer Hours:
8:00 AM - 3:00 PM - please always wear your mask (covering nose and mouth) and ring the bell.
Hang in there, and please reach out to me directly if I can assist you in any way.
