Greetings Husky Families
Day 1 has officially ended on the Jahn campus and “wow” is an understatement around how I am feeling. If you were on campus this morning, it was clear that parents and students were excited, as well as a few tears shed around separation anxiety. By the end of the day, it was clear that your children were in the right place.
Thank you for allowing us to cultivate your child’s educational experience.
By the time we end this week, a number of community building activities would have occurred in classrooms. These activities have a purpose of fostering relationships and allowing students to share their identities. This type of community building will not only happen this week, but also throughout the school year. Feel free to ask your children about activities happening in their classrooms to build community.
Please join us for our first school-wide event this Friday, August 25th at 8:45 am. This event, Faces of Jahn, is our school-wide pep rally. Faces of Jahn will provide you with an opportunity to meet our staff, as well as see our unique and wonderful community.

Upcoming Events/Dates:
Faces of Jahn: Friday, August 25th - 8:45 am. Please join us as we close out our first week of school with a pep rally on the playlot. This event is our first of many school-wide community building events. As you drop off your child, stick around for good music, good fun, and a chance to meet every member of the Jahn school family. Coffee will be provided by Friends of Jahn.
Popsicles on the Playground: Friday, August 25th - 3 pm. Let's keep the first week celebrations going with Popsicles on the Playground after school. Join Friends of Jahn from 3-4 pm on the playlot for a free treat and mix and mingle with other Jahn families.
Labor Day: Monday, September 4th. School will be closed in observance of the contributions of American workers.
Jahn Open House - Thursday, September 7th - 4 pm. Please join us for this in-person opportunity to meet your child’s classroom teacher, as well as other members of the Jahn school community.
LSC meeting: Wednesday, September 13th - 6pm. Please join us for our monthly LSC meeting. Our meetings are now held in person at the school.
Latinx and Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month - September 15th - October 15th. Please stay tuned for our calendar of events highlighting the numerous contributions of Latinx and Indigenous people.
Quarter 1 Progress Reports - Thursday, September 21st. Progress reports will be distributed to students on this day.
Professional Development Day - Friday, September 22nd. This is a non-attendance day for our students. Our staff will be participating in professional learning.
