Social Emotional Curriculum

Students in K-8 use the research-based Second Step curriculum for social emotional instruction.  Supported by music and videos, take-home activities, and stories kids relate to, the developmentally appropriate Second Step lessons instill social-emotional skills for students, including self-awareness, self-management, conflict resolution, decision-making, and social responsibility.

PRIMARY & INTERMEDIATE (K-5)

Students in grades K–5 develop their social-emotional skills—including making friends, managing emotions, and solving problems—to set them on the path for social success and academic readiness.

MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-8)

Middle-schoolers are better prepared to navigate adolescence with communication, coping, and decision-making skills that help them make good choices and avoid pitfalls, such as peer pressure, substance abuse, and bullying.

Teachers in grades PreK-8th are also incorporating the Zones of Regulation curriculum into their classes with a focus of emotional regulation.
