Jahn Robotics Team

Spring 2024 OST Robotics Club

This spring, the Robotics club is meeting Mondays from 3-4pm in Mrs. Walsh's room, Room 301. Students are learning about the basics of building & programming robots using LEGO Spike Prime base. Each week, we cover a topic such as movement, gears, mechanics, basic coding, and advanced blocks & Python. This class will prepare students for the upcoming First Lego League season in Fall 2024.

First Lego League Robotics Team

In 2023, Jahn fielded our first ever First Lego League team. The team competed in a qualifier and sectional tournament and has advanced to the State competition! We are one of only a few schools in CPS to advance to state.

The robotics club is a large collaboration among teachers and parent volunteers. In Fall 2023, we met in Ms. Lynch's class, and in spring 2024 we now meet in Ms. Walsh's room 301.

We also rely on many volunteers, some of whom are parents, grandparents, and neighbors in the community. Volunteer coaches include Luke Shepard, Mollie Rapp, Michael Kilkelly, Johnny Vivoda, Jeff Shepard, and Colleen Lavin.

We are always looking for eager and interested volunteers! You are welcome to come to observe. Email Luke with any questions or if you'd like to get involved.
