Principal Message - February 21st

Greetings Husky Families

As we continue to move through the month of February, we encourage you to not only share and acknowledge the contributions African-Americans have made to society, we also invite you to join us for the remaining events (listed below) that are happening on campus for the month:
  • February 22nd - Food for the Soul (African-American History Month dinner) - 10:30 - noon
  • February 23rd - Capoeira (Brazilian martial arts dance program - 4pm (auditorium) parents must be in attendance with students
  • February 29th - Assembly program - Pre-K-2nd - 9 am; 3rd-8th grades - 1 pm.
A special shout out to our Robotics team.  This past weekend they competed at the State tournament.  Although our journey ended at the state level, there are three things I want to say about this extraordinary team.  First, they were one of two rookie teams who made it to the state (both rookie teams were from Chicago Public Schools).  Second, they gave their all throughout the entire competition.  Lastly, we will be back!!!!   This was our first year with a team and it won’t be our last.  Many thanks to the coaching staff and our entire Jahn family for the support.  #huskypride

One final announcement:  Tomorrow’s Koffee With Kimbrough is being canceled for this month.  Please be on the lookout for the March event.  My apologies for this last minute change.

For further details around what’s happening on campus,  I encourage you to review the calendar sent home or our website for additional details.

Have an amazing week.
