Principal Message - February 27th

Greetings Husky Families

As we conclude the month of February, I would like to thank you for all that you have done to support our Black History Month activities.  Before the month concludes, I encourage you to join us for our final program for the month.  On Thursday, our assembly program will be held.  For our Pre-K through 2nd graders, an assembly will be held at 9 am, followed by a 1 pm program for our 3rd-8th graders.  We encourage you to join us during one of those times.

On Friday, we welcome the month of March.  March will provide us with a number of things, which include celebrating Women’s History Month and a new SEL theme.  Our SEL theme for the month of March is Creating Solutions/Problem Solving.  This theme encourages us to create win-win situations and develop constructive solutions to problems.  Some books to support your understanding of this theme are listed below:

Primary:  Emmanuel’s Dream:  The True Story of Emmanuel Ofosu - Laurie Ann Thompson, Someday is Now - Clara Luper, and My Strong Mind:  A Story About Developing Mental Strength - Niels Van Hove.
Intermediate:  My Year In the Middle - Lila Quintero Weaver, Raymie Nightingale - Kate DiCamillo, and As Brave As You - Jason Reynolds.
Middle:  On The Come Up - Angie Thomas, This Side of Home - Renee Watson, and Revolution - Deborah Wiles.

For further details around what’s happening on campus,  I encourage you to review the calendar sent home or our website for additional details.

Have an amazing week.
