Principal Message - March 5th

Greetings Husky Families

Welcome to another great week at Jahn School of Fine Arts.  As we continue our journey through the month of March, I ask that you be mindful of our SEL theme for the month (Creating Solutions/Problem Solving) and assist us in celebrating Women’s History month.  Find ways to incorporate our theme and take time to share the many contributions women have made to society.

Jahn T-shirt:  By the end of day Tuesday, all students will have received a Jahn t-shirt.  Staff and students are asked to wear their t-shirts on Wednesday.   Please assist us in this school-wide spirit effort.

Crosswalk Safety:  In an effort to support the safety of our students, I am asking that you assist us in not blocking any of the crosswalks during arrival or dismissal.  It is important to keep the crosswalks clear.  Please assist us in keeping our students safe.

Parent Workshop:  Please join us Tuesday, March 19th at 9 am for our parent workshop around how to support your child(ren) with executive functioning and organization.  This event, co-sponsored by our PAC and BAC, will have an in-person and virtual option for attendance.

School Social Work Week:  Please join us in highlighting and celebrating our social worker, Mr. Faron during School Social Work Week.  Many thanks to him for all that he does to support our students.

Nominations Open for Crossing Guard of the Year Award

CPS is currently encouraging school communities to nominate their favorite crossing guards for the District's Crossing Guard of the Year Award using this form. Students, staff, school leaders, parents, and other community members are all welcome to submit a nomination for a crossing guard who has made a difference in their lives. The form will be open until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15th, and the winners will be announced on Monday, May 13th, 2024. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. Let’s make sure our own Mr. Micheal Watson is nominated and acknowledged for the great job he does inside and outside of the school.

For further details around what’s happening on campus,  I encourage you to review the calendar sent home or our website for additional details.

Have an amazing week.
