Dear Jahn School Community,
We want to keep you informed and engaged as we move forward in the important process of selecting the next principal of Jahn School of Fine Arts.
The official job posting for our school’s principal position was approved by CPS and posted on July 2, 2025, with an application deadline of July 16, 2025. Please see the timeline here to see all the planned steps for the principal selection.
The Principal Selection Committee held its first meeting on July 3, where members organized into subcommittees and began planning next steps. The committee will continue to meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30–6:30 p.m. until a new principal is selected. This document also lists all the subcommittees and members.
We are committed to a thoughtful and inclusive process that prioritizes the needs and values of our school community. We will continue to share updates as the selection process progresses.
In other important news, please note the updated school hours for the 2025–26 school year: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Finally, the Local School Council’s Organizational Meeting will take place on Monday, July 14 at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend and stay informed about school governance and leadership decisions. The zoom link, location, and agenda can be found here.
