Dear Jahn School Community,
We want to keep you informed and engaged as we move forward in the important process of selecting the next principal of Jahn School of Fine Arts.
The Principal Selection Committee will continue to meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30–6:30 p.m. until a new principal is selected. This document also lists all the subcommittees and members.
The Local School Council (LSC) will meet on Tuesday, July 22 at 5:30pm to review and select first round principal candidates (resumes were not received in time to do this last week) and finalize interview questions. Jahn has received over 20 resumes for the principal position and the LSC along with the Principal Selection Committee will review all of these prior to Tuesday’s meeting. Discussion of the actual candidates will be in a closed session for candidate privacy. The Zoom link, location, and agenda for this meeting can be found here.
At last week’s LSC meeting Nicole Abreu Shepard was appointed to the open Parent Representative Position.
Interview Question and Development: The committee is finalizing thoughtful interview questions for the applicants which reflect our school’s unique needs and values in a new principal including teacher and staff input. Interview questions will be officially approved at LSC on Tuesday.
Please see the timeline here to see all the further planned steps for the principal selection as we move along in this process.
We are committed to a thoughtful and inclusive process that prioritizes the needs and values of our Jahn school community. We will continue to share updates as the selection process progresses.
If you know of any new Jahn families that are not yet receiving these updates, please forward this email to them and have them sign up for emails at this link.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in shaping the future of Jahn.
Sincerely,
The Jahn Local School Council and Principal Selection Committee
