August 5, 2025
Dear Jahn School Community,
We want to keep you informed and engaged as we move forward in the important process of selecting the next principal of Jahn School of Fine Arts.
The Principal Selection Committee will continue to meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30–6:30 p.m. until a new principal is selected. This document lists all the subcommittees and members.
Progress in the Principal Selection Process
On Tuesday, July 29th the Local School Council (LSC) voted to approve candidates for first round interviews. The first round interviews started last week and will continue through Wednesday of this week.
The LSC will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 6 from 4-6pm at the Lincoln Belmont Branch of the Chicago Public Library (1659 W Melrose) to further discuss the interview process and next steps along with general school business. Further information for the meeting location, Zoom link, and agenda can all be found here.
Upcoming Community Forum
As we move forward in the search for our next principal, we’re excited to share that a Community Forum will be held at the school with the final candidates once they are selected. This will be an opportunity for students, families, staff, and community members to hear directly from the candidates and learn more about their vision for our school. We’ll also be inviting the community to submit questions in advance to help guide the conversation. More details, including dates and how to submit questions, will be shared soon!
We are committed to a thoughtful and inclusive process that prioritizes the needs and values of our Jahn school community. We will continue to share updates as the selection process progresses.
If you know of any new Jahn families that are not yet receiving these updates, please forward this email to them and have them sign up for emails at this link.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in shaping the future of Jahn.
Sincerely,
The Jahn Local School Council and Principal Selection Committee
