Hello Jahn Families,
Thanks to the hard work of our staff and volunteers, last week was full of celebrations and fun! We kicked off Hispanic Heritage month with “Churros y Chocolate” thanks to our Bilingual Advisory Committee. If you are interested in joining or learning more about the work these parents and staff do, please email Ms. Toledo at [email protected].
On Friday we had tons of fun with Hero, staff and students racing in the Husky Hustle. Thank you to the Friends Of Jahn and Coach Crystal for organizing this healthy event and fun competition that also raises funds for our school. We had so many parents and staff also come out and celebrate. Thank you to everyone who made the day a success!
After school we recognized the hard work of Ms. Lynch and Ms. Esquivel, our outstanding Art and Music educators. Because of them and the collaboration among Jahn staff we were given Exemplary Arts status! This is a really big deal and highlights the shared commitment among our school community to deliver high quality arts curriculum to all of our students. Nice job!
A school bus parks on Belmont to pick up some of our students each day. This assigned area, marked by cones, is essential to the safety of all of our students. Please be patient while students and support staff load the bus at dismissal. Thank you!.
Movie Night is this Thursday, 9/25 supporting our Middle School featuring “Big Hero 6”. $3 suggested donation per person. Please RSVP using this link.
It is important that our students are at school each day and on time. There are a lot of students tardy each day that are missing important instructional and social time with their peers. Being late to school is hard on kids- please help us by working with your children to get to school on time each day. Last week our school-wide attendance was 95.49% which is higher than it was last year at this time and 2% higher than it was the previous week. Let’s keep this trend going, especially ahead of the winter and flu season.
Progress reports went home on 9/19. Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns about grades.
Reminder: This Friday is a non-attendance day for students.
Have a great week,
Dr. Byrne
