Hello Jahn families,
Thank you to everyone who supported the Movie Night last Thursday! It was a perfect evening, and I loved seeing everyone together. Many thanks to the Friends of Jahn for their support- we couldn’t have done it without you! And to Ms. Rodkey and the 8th graders for their hard work.
Last week’s overall attendance was 94.4%, which was a slight drop from the previous week. If your child is absent from school 2 times per month, they are considered Chronically Absent at the end of the school year. This impacts students in many ways- their grades and relationships at school suffer, and chronically absent students have an 18% lower high school graduation rate than their non-chronically absent peers.
Absences add up quickly! Late tardies- arriving after 10:00am- constitute a half day of instruction. Please work with us and your child to make attending school and arriving on time a priority.
This week we have an LSC meeting on Wednesday, 10/1/25 at 4:30. There is an in person and virtual option to attend. In person is at Jahn, and the virtual link is on our website.
Next week we will be hosting a Literacy and Math Night. Families are welcome to spend time with classmates, teachers and staff throughout the building. Jahn will open back up at 4:00 that evening and close at 5:45. Hope to see you there!
Let’s make it a great week,
Dr. Byrne
