Hello Jahn families,
I hope that you all had a good time connecting with teachers during conferences yesterday. If you have any questions, or would like to make an appointment, please call the main office at (773)534-5500 or email your child’s teacher directly. This time with families and teachers is essential to your child’s academic and social-emotional growth, and I look forward to the plans, connections and partnership that come from today’s conversations.
This Friday for the Halloween parade, parents are welcome! So everyone can see the creative and adorable costumes of our students, we ask that you stay off of the soccer pitch for the duration of the parade. The space will be clearly marked with cones, and staff will be supporting the parade. Thank you in advance for your flexibility and support.
As an extension of learning, Jahn’s Bilingual Advisory Committee is asking students to help us create an ofrenda on each floor of our school in honor of deceased loved ones and/or significant figures. Students are invited to contribute to their floor’s Day of the Dead ofrenda by bringing photographs of loved ones or historical figures they admire, or even beloved pets that have passed on. Please see the flyer here for more information. Thank you to all of our parents for their time and care creating this special space at Jahn.

Community Guidelines for WhatsApp/Facebook group: all messages are to remain supportive and collaborative. If anyone messages in a non-supportive/collaborative manner OR uses the classroom chats for ANYTHING other than building community, social engagements, or helpful reminders, they will be removed from the group and will not be asked to volunteer at school events. We are all about creating a positive environment for our kids to learn and our community to thrive, and that includes online adult activity. Thank you for understanding.
Let’s make it a great week!
