“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.”
– Robert Swan, Author

Dear Jahn community,

We are thrilled to announce that our school will soon start its journey to become a Sustainable School!

We are committed to:
1- Creating a school culture where healthy choices and sustainability is the norm
2- Becoming a Zero Waste school by educating staff, students, and parents on how to:
 *conserve energy and water
 *reduce chemicals/pollution
 *reduce waste
3- Implementing healthy nutrition activities

Starting November 12th, we will kick off the recycling and composting program in full, with the support of CPS partners for Zero Waste and Gardening. On Monday, November 10th, Ms. Gibrick will be going into each classroom to educate students on our recycling and composting program. With a focus on how students will sort their trash at lunch.

While parents and staff are obviously essential parts of the process, the real difference makers will be our children, who will become Green Ambassadors by taking responsibility and monitoring all the activities.

Below you will find links to the Zero Waste Program.

We look forward to working together for a more sustainable future.
