Hello Jahn,
Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! I hope you are all staying warm!
Thank you to everyone for supporting the inclement weather protocols we have in place so that our students are safe. As a reminder, doors will be open to early arrivals at 8:15am to ensure there is adequate supervision of students when inside. Any early arrivals for PreK must be accompanied by an adult, and enter through the Fletcher doors.
Students are excited for their Winter Celebrations on Friday 12/19. As a reminder, all volunteers must be approved through the CPS volunteer process. As the building leader I also approve volunteer lists ahead of all events. Thank you in advance for your support and understanding.
Friday’s school wide celebration also includes outside food. It is our goal to ensure that every student in our school is safe. Students with a food allergy cannot be in contact with foods containing these allergen(s), and we are requesting your support to ensure our community’s safety by being mindful of the foods or related foods that are sent to school for lunches, snacks, or treats. Trace amounts of these allergens can result in a reaction. If you have any questions about what is allowable, please reach out to the homeroom teacher.
Jahn will be closed during Winter Break. Please remind your children to bring home everything they will need- hats, gloves, boots, books etc. with them at the end of the day Friday. Teachers and staff will support all students with this as well.
January 5th is a non-attendance day for students, so we won’t see you all until Tuesday, January 6th. Report Cards will be sent home with students on Friday, January 9th.
As we head into the holiday season, I want to wish all of our students and families a safe, restful, and joyful break. May this time be filled with moments of connection, reflection, and care for one another.
I look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed in the new year.
Dr. Byrne
