Hello Jahn Families,
Literati Book Fair is right around the corner, and I am eager to be a part of it this school year. The fair will begin on Monday, April 20th with opportunities for families, students and teachers to shop throughout that week. Thank you to our outstanding volunteers and library enthusiasts for being so thoughtful and for running it for our community.
May 1st
If the Board chooses to change the approved 2025-26 academic calendar, they may convene a special Board meeting for a formal vote to make May 1st a non-attendance day for students and instead a Day of Civic Action. Dr. King, CPS’ Interim Superintendent, will communicate these updates. I recognize that this poses challenges and complications for many families, and I apologize for the lack of clarity around it.
Prioritizing Safety
If there is anything that happens in our community while your child is on their way to or from Jahn, please let me know. There are many ways we can work together to address concerns and provide support, but in some situations we are not even aware that there was a potentially dangerous situation that occurred off campus. Never hesitate to reach out.
