Dear Jahn Community,
As we reach the final days of the 2025-2026 school year, my heart is full of gratitude for the journey we have shared!
A school like ours does not happen by accident. The tireless dedication and organization of volunteers have brought so much joy to our hallways. I want to extend a special thank you to the Friends of Jahn board members-Emily Brown, Johanna Gottlieb, Mollie Vivoda, Kirsten Muszynski, Mollie Rapp, JoAnn Reid, Jackie Swan and Karin Ueltschi- whose formal and informal leadership has helped our school reach new heights and brought us so many fun memories.
The Local School Council members Abby Halperin-Robinson, Hilda Crispin, Kate Baker, Kirsten Muszynski, Melissa Hamby, Celeste Esquivel, John Vivoda, Mike Nellis, Nicole Abreu and Rachel Smith helped lead our school through new terrain without fanfare or negativity, always looking for solutions and ways to come together on behalf of our school and community. You are a one of kind Council, and I am forever grateful that you saw potential in me as a leader.
Each and every volunteer, donation, drop off of snacks for the teachers lounge, picking up packages over the weekend that were left outside our doors or walking a kid home from school- these small, thoughtful and consistent acts of kindness make a school a true community. Hours of 100% volunteered time ran an entire, extremely successful, Robotics Team. Can you name one other school where this exists? I didn’t think so!
To our departing 8th graders and their families- we wish you the very best as you take your next steps. Know that we are rooting you on from 3149 Wolcott, and cannot wait to see the wonderful things you do next. We will miss you! To our returning families and our incoming PreK students, we cannot wait to see you back in the hallways, bringing your energy and art to our school once again.
Thank you for making this a truly memorable year. I hope you all have a safe, restful, and creative summer break.
See you in August,
Dr. Byrne
