Lauren Gibrick

My name is Lauren Gibrick and I am a special education teacher for inclusion and resource.  You can find me in room 202, where I co-teach 4th grade ELA and Social Studies for 4th and 5th grade levels. I also teach 5th grade ELA and 3rd and 4th Grade Math resource in room 309.  I am excited to be starting the Jahn Green Team, where we are focusing on composting, recycling and gardening. 

A little about me—this is my 8th year in CPS. I hold a B.A. in Mass Communication Studies from the University of Iowa and a Master’s degree in Education from National Louis University in Chicago. I also have an LBS1 certification. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching English in South Korea, working as a primary classroom teacher, and a middle school special education teacher.  

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, all kinds of art, composting and gardening, the color purple, exploring Chicago and my cat, Charlie.
