Dana Stamos

Hi there! My name is Dana Stamos, and I have been teaching at Jahn since 2018. As a child, I looked up to my elementary school teachers. Their passion, kindness, enthusiasm, and creativity shaped my character, inspiring me to become an educator myself. I am excited to now share my love of teaching, laughing, and learning with students of my own.

I grew up in Evanston, Illinois, so Chicago has always been close to my heart. After high school, I swapped one midwestern city for another, attending The College of Wooster in Ohio where I studied sociology and early childhood education. After graduation, I moved back to Chicago to complete my student teaching in CPS, and I have been teaching in Chicago ever since!

Outside of the classroom, I love to be in nature. I have spent multiple summers in Wisconsin leading canoeing and backpacking trips for middle and high schoolers, which brings me so much joy! Some other loves of mine are running, swimming in Lake Michigan, reading, tap dancing, and spending time with my loved ones.

I am looking forward to watching each student grow this year. Every child brings something unique and beautiful into this world, and I am lucky to spend my days teaching your children and learning from them, as well.
