We are excited to inform you that an agreement has been reached between the District and the CTU. Staff will report tomorrow, Tuesday, January 11.
Classes will resume in person for all CPS students on Wednesday, January 12. Please stay tuned for more information.
School is canceled for today, January 10th. We are able to open the door for a very limited number of students as a safe haven. If you did not sign up your child on the Google form, please do not send them to school today. We will send out an update at the end of today. If you have any questions, please email or call Jahn school.
Beginning in December, we will be making and selling popcorn each Friday for $1.00 a bag as a school fundraiser!!
Simply send your child with a dollar, and at the end of the day, they will get to buy a bag to take home. It's a delicious way to start the weekend!!!!
The school will be closed tomorrow. However, if you need immediate assistance, please email Mrs. Moon-Sarudi and Mr. Herring.
We are sorry to announce that the school will be closed again tomorrow. However, the school building will be open, and Mr. Herring and Mrs. Moon-Sarudi will be at Jahn to distribute meals for the families in need. There will be no in-person or remote instruction tomorrow, Thursday, January 6, and parents and caregivers should not plan to send their children to school. All after-school programs, athletic practices, and other school events are also canceled. We apologize for the disruption that the union’s illegal work stoppage is causing for your family.
Thank you to everyone who came out the week of November 15th and shopped for our school! The results of the Building Blocks Toy Store "Play It Forward" initiative are in and Jahn will receive just over $450.
The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) has voted NOT to report to work tomorrow, therefore all classes and school activities are being canceled for Wednesday, January 5. We apologize for the late nature of this message given the CTU’s technical difficulties during their vote.
In December, there may still be a chance to support our school with a bag of the "Husky Blend" at Pilates + Coffee. Call or visit the cafe at 244 W Roscoe Street (between Leavitt & Hamilton) to see if there's any left in stock. All net proceeds will benefit our school. It's the perfect holiday gift or enjoy for yourself!
We wish you and your family a Happy New Year! As we prepare to welcome in 2022, we are grateful for our community and all you've done to support the success of our school year. With school resuming Monday, January 3, 2022, you can continue to help return to school safely by:
