Coding Resources

Coding Resources

The Jahn Coding Club runs on Mondays as part of OST from January 27 through May 19. This program is for kids who have previously participated in the First LEGO League team. We will spend the time becoming more proficient in Python.

PickCode

We have been using PickCode, a web-based coding platform that supports JavaScript and Python. Sign up for PickCode using this classroom link.

P5. Within PickCode, students have been building games using P5.js, which is a JavaScript library for building artistic creations and games.

Micro:bit

Many students have created some apps using Micro:bit controllers. You can purchase your own Micro:bit for home use here. We have also attempted to create micro:bit powered robots using the Cutebot.  However, I can't really recommend those as they have proved more finicky / difficult than I expected.
