There are some families at Jahn, along with our Jahn Sanctuary Team, that are working together for the safety and well-being of our community. In particular, we appreciate the hard work of our school’s parent volunteers for starting to organize so many of the following supports these past few weeks.

It’s time to begin the GoCPS High School Application Process for our 8th-grade students (and Academic Center applications for 6th–7th). Applications are due by 5:00 pm this Friday, November 14th. Schedule an appointment with Jahn's School Counselor, Ms. Torres, for one-on-one support.

Attention 2026-27 incoming kindergartners and new 1st-8th students! If you live outside Jahn's neighborhood boundary, you must apply through the GoCPS application process for the 2026-27 school year. The GoCPS application is open NOW through this Friday, Nov 14th, at 5 pm.

We are thrilled to announce that our school will soon start its journey to become a Sustainable School! Volunteers are needed to help kick things off.

Starting Nov. 10th thru the 14th, Jahn families are invited to sell popcorn through a Double Good popcorn virtual fundraiser. Formerly known as Poptober, it's still 100% contactless, we still keep 50% of all sales, and the same delicious popcorn ships directly to the buyer.

Please join the 8th grade class for a dining night at Chipotle at 3312 N Western Ave on Wednesday, November 12th, from 4-8 pm. 25% of the proceeds will go towards the class trip to Boston in May 2026. We hope to see you there!- Class of 2026

Our Poppin' Good Fundraiser is happening this week! Enjoy free popcorn for everyone on the playground after 3:30 pm dismissal on Thursday, 11/13, and meanwhile, raise money for our school online. If you have any allergy concerns, please read more about the ingredients.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and efforts to make Jahn Halloween extra special. There were so many helpers, smiles and fun throughout the building, and I am extremely grateful to all who helped make the day a success.

Please join Dr. Byrne on Thursday, November 6th, at 9 am in the auditorium for the Annual State of the School Address, followed immediately by the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Organizational Meeting. There will be a virtual option as well.

On Friday, November 7th from 6-8 pm, "You know we're gonna be, gonna be golden" at the Linda & Bill Gantz Boys & Girls Club of Chicago for the Jahn Family Dance. Pizza and drinks will be provided for this FREE KPop Demon Hunters-themed event for PreK-8 families. Please read more to let us know if you plan on attending!
